Official resources and tools for APA Style
Quick answer
The reference resources for APA Style are the official APA Style website, your university library and your word processor's help. This site is an independent complement: when in doubt, the official guidance or your institution's own guide prevails over it.
Official sources
- APA Style: guides, examples and blog from the American Psychological Association. Check the current edition there.
Tools
- Zotero: a free reference manager. Our guide: Zotero.
- Microsoft Word help: templates and formatting features.
- Google Docs help: margins, indents and citations.

Your university library
Your library usually has an APA guide, a citation checking service and workshops. It is the best source for the requirements that change from one school to another.
